1.從考查的形式來看：無論是英語一還是英語二，小作文考查書信類和告示類兩種。其中，從近年的考頻來說，書信是考查的重點。在英語一中，小作文考查了13年。在這13年中，11年都考查到了書信。在書信中，建議信出現了四年。在英語二中，小作文考查了8年，其中，7年都考查到了書信。在書信中，感謝信和建議信出現得最多。
2.小作文不要照抄提示語中出現過的句子。因為大綱規定：“允許在作文中使用提示語中出現過的個別關鍵詞或詞組，但使用提示語中出現過的句子將被扣分。”
3.關于語域。第五檔作文有句“格式與語域恰當貼切”。小作文要考到8分及以上，一定要注意語域的問題。如果屬于正式文體(雙方不認識)，那么應該盡量避免使用縮略語或省略句。另外，大作文一般都屬于正式文體。
4.關于結束語中的“li ming”。英語一都是“li ming”;英語二2013年及以后都是“li ming”，之前是“zhang wei”,大家在考場上要看好。

3.再仔細看看2007年的題目要求：1) describe the drawing briefly,2) explain its intended meaning, and then3) support your view with an example/examples.這是跟現在不同的。關于英語一，從2004年以來，除了2004年和2007年的第三點要求是讓大家舉例外，其余十二年的第三點都演變成了類似于：3)give your comments。
